# SEO Price in Penang 2026: What Seven Agencies Publish, Converted to the Same Unit

> What SEO costs in Penang in 2026 — every published price on the first page of this search, checked the day this went live, converted to a monthly figure so they can be compared, plus the annual package that looks expensive and isn't.

**SEO in Penang runs from RM991 to over RM8,000 a month once every published price is converted to the same unit. Getting to that sentence took an afternoon, because no two agencies on this search quote in the same format — one sells twelve months up front, one sells three monthly tiers, one publishes the market average instead of its own fee, and one publishes nothing but the value of a free session.**

Ours first, as always: **RM690**, **RM1,290** or **RM2,290** a month, month to month, cancel any month, on the [pricing page](/pricing). Website builds are separate and paid once — RM900, RM1,800 or RM4,900. We publish those numbers for the same reason we published the ones below. Where those build numbers sit against the rest of the market is [a separate table](/blog/website-design-malaysia-price), checked the same way.

Every figure here was read off each company's own page on **14 August 2026**, the day this went live. Links are included so you can check them yourself. Prices change — if you are reading this months later, click through before you rely on anything.

**Nothing here says any of these firms is bad.** Every one of them is the right answer for someone. A twelve-month package suits a business that has already decided and wants the discount for committing. A month-to-month retainer suits one that hasn't. Each line below is what the company writes on its own page, not our opinion of them.

## Every published price on the first page, in one table

We searched `seo penang` on google.com.my from Malaysia and opened the first page of results. Seven were agencies or agency guides. Here is what each one publishes.

| Provider | What their page says | Per month | Format |
|---|---|---|---|
| [seopenang.com](https://seopenang.com) | RM11,888 for 12 months, 30 keywords | **RM991** | Paid once, 12-month term |
| [seopenang.com](https://seopenang.com) Plan B | RM16,888 for 12 months, 40 keywords | **RM1,407** | Paid once, 12-month term |
| [KS Global](https://ksglobal.com.my/seo-penang) | "Our SEO packages in Penang start from RM1,800 per month" | **RM1,800+** | Monthly |
| [Rankpage](https://www.rankpage.com.my) Growth Pack | RM2,899 / monthly fee | **RM2,899** | Monthly |
| [Rankpage](https://www.rankpage.com.my) Aggressive Pack | RM3,899 / monthly fee | **RM3,899** | Monthly |
| [Rankpage](https://www.rankpage.com.my) Custom | RM4k to 8k+ / monthly fee | **RM4,000–8,000+** | Monthly |
| [ZenWeb](https://zenweb.my/blog/best-seo-agency-penang) | RM2,000–6,500 for a full-service agency | RM2,000–6,500 | Range, see note below |
| [VeecoTech](https://veecotech.com.my/seo-penang) | "On average, monthly SEO & AEO services in Penang range from RM1000 to RM3000+" | — | Market average, not their fee |
| [MYSense](https://mysense.com.my/seo-penang) | No price. The only RM figure on the page is "FREE Digital Marketing Strategy Session (Worth RM3000)" | — | Not published |
| LOCUS-T | We could not read a price without a browser | — | Unchecked |
| **FoundlyAgency** | RM690 / RM1,290 / RM2,290 | **RM690–2,290** | Monthly, cancel anytime |

**Three of the seven publish a figure you can act on.** One publishes a range. One publishes the market's average instead of its own. One publishes none. One we could not verify — and we are listing that as unchecked rather than as zero, because we did not manage to read the page, which is not the same as the page having no price.

## The arithmetic nobody does for you

Look at the first two rows again.

### RM11,888 for twelve months is RM991 a month

That is below every monthly retainer on this list except ours. **The biggest number on the page is the cheapest deal, per month.**

| | Sticker price | Per month | Total over 12 months |
|---|---|---|---|
| seopenang.com Plan A | RM11,888 once | **RM991** | RM11,888 |
| KS Global | RM1,800 / month | RM1,800 | RM21,600 |
| Rankpage Growth | RM2,899 / month | RM2,899 | RM34,788 |

**Same year, RM9,712 apart** between the first two rows. Nobody does this division for you, because doing it makes some of these numbers look different.

{{fig:fig1-en}}

### So why isn't everyone on the annual package?

Two reasons, and neither of them is the price.

### Cash flow: RM11,888 leaves your account once, in month one

RM1,800 a month leaves it twelve times. Over the year the annual package costs less — but you need the whole sum available now. For a business where cash timing matters more than the total, the more expensive option is the affordable one.

### The exit: month three is when the RM991 stops mattering

A month-to-month retainer that isn't working costs you one month to leave. A twelve-month package that isn't working costs you the remaining term. **The per-month figure only holds if you stay the full term** — and you decide that before you have seen any results.

Neither is better. They price two different appetites for risk, and it is worth knowing which one you are buying before the number persuades you.

## What actually moves your quote

The published prices above look like they measure the same thing. They don't. **Four of these companies charge by four different units** — and that, more than any market factor, is what decides the number you get.

### They are not selling the same unit

| Charged by | Who does this | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| **Pages** | KS Global: "*Price is based on a 5 page website. Additional pages are RM100 each*" | Adding pages later is a known cost, not a renegotiation |
| **Keywords** | seopenang.com: 30 keywords in Plan A, 40 in Plan B | The scope is fixed and countable. Ask what happens to keyword 31 |
| **Tier** | Rankpage: three named packs. Nuweb: three tiers, billed yearly | The scope is whatever the tier says. Ask for the list |
| **Month** | KS Global from RM1,800/mo, ours from RM690/mo | Open-ended scope. Ask what one month actually delivers |

**Before comparing two quotes, check they are quoting the same unit.** RM1,800 for five pages and RM1,800 a month are not comparable numbers, and nothing on either page tells you that.

### Languages: the variable that quietly doubles things

If your customers search in English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia, that is three sets of pages, three sets of keywords, three sets of content — not one job with a translation on top. Our own tiers are structured this way: one language at RM690, two at RM1,290, three at RM2,290.

When a quote doesn't mention language count, that usually means one. Ask.

### Competition: the same work costs the same, but takes longer

A café in George Town and a B2B manufacturer selling into Europe need roughly the same technical work. The difference is how long it takes to show, because one competes with a handful of local listings and the other with international suppliers. **A shorter timeline is what you are buying at the higher tiers, not different work.**

## What you will actually see on pricing pages, and what each thing means

These five patterns showed up while reading seven pricing pages in one afternoon. **None of them means a company is bad** — but each one changes what you should ask next.

### 1. The only number on the page is next to the word "free"

One page on this search carries "FREE Digital Marketing Strategy Session Now! (Worth RM3000)" and no other RM figure anywhere. The session is real and may well be useful. **But a value label describes something you are not being asked to pay for.** If the first figure you see is attached to "free", you have not yet seen a price.

{{fig:fig3-en}}

### 2. The price quoted is the market's, not theirs

VeecoTech's page states monthly SEO and AEO in Penang runs RM1,000 to RM3,000+. Read the start of the sentence: "*On average*". That is an accurate description of the market and it is not their fee. Their own plan is named but unpriced. **Check whether the number on the page belongs to the company showing it to you.**

### 3. The range comes from the company's own book

ZenWeb publishes the most structured pricing on this search and states its source: "*Aggregated from ZenWeb-managed SEO retainers in Penang and Seberang Perai, 2024–2026.*" That is a real dataset, honestly labelled — **and it is one agency's own clients**, which is worth holding in mind when you read the row describing that agency. Ask any survey where its numbers came from.

### 4. There is no deliverable count anywhere

Three of the pages here name their tiers by ambition — foundation, outranking competitors, category default — without saying how many of anything you get. **A price with no count cannot be checked at the end of the month.** Ask for the number of articles, pages, keywords or reports, in writing, before you ask about the price.

### 5. The page has no date on it

Of the pages we checked, **none carries a visible last-updated date**. One of them ranks on this search with a title saying 2026 while Google shows its date as October 2023. SEO prices move. **A pricing page with no date is a pricing page you cannot age.** That applies to this one too — ours says 14 August 2026 at the top, and we will change it when we recheck.

## Which tier is yours

{{fig:fig2-en}}

The table at the top is organised by company. That is useful for checking prices, and useless for choosing one. Here is the same set of published figures arranged by the buyer instead.

⚠️ **This grouping is ours, not theirs.** No company on this list describes itself this way. The prices in it are still each company's own published figures — we have only sorted them.

| If you are | Published options in this range | Roughly |
|---|---|---|
| **One shop, one service** — a café, a clinic, a workshop, competing with other Penang businesses | Nuweb SEO Basic RM600/mo (billed yearly) · ours RM690/mo | **RM600–1,200 / month** |
| **A few services, one location** — you want to be found for three or four different things | KS Global from RM1,800/mo · ours RM1,290/mo · seopenang.com Plan A at RM991/mo equivalent | **RM1,000–2,000 / month** |
| **Several locations, or more than one language** | Rankpage Growth RM2,899/mo · Nuweb SEO Pro RM2,288/mo · ours RM2,290/mo | **RM2,000–3,500 / month** |
| **Exporting, or competing nationally** — manufacturing, medical tourism, B2B into other countries | Rankpage Aggressive RM3,899/mo · Rankpage Custom RM4k–8k+/mo | **RM3,500–8,000+ / month** |

**If a quote you receive sits two rows above where your business does, that is the question to raise** — not "why so expensive", but "which of these rows do you think I'm in, and why".

### The other way to slice it: by who is doing the work

ZenWeb publishes the same market cut by provider type rather than by buyer, which is a useful second view:

| Provider type | Penang monthly range | Mid-point |
|---|---|---|
| Cheap SEO package reseller | RM450–1,200 | RM800 |
| Freelance SEO consultant | RM700–2,200 | RM1,300 |
| Full-service agency | RM2,000–6,500 | RM3,800 |
| Boutique SEO specialist | RM2,800–8,000 | RM4,800 |
| Enterprise SEO agency | RM10,000–30,000+ | RM16,000 |

Source, in their words: *"Aggregated from ZenWeb-managed SEO retainers in Penang and Seberang Perai, 2024–2026."* — see pattern 3 above for what to do with that.

**Read the two tables together.** If your business sits in row one of ours but the quote in front of you sits in row four of theirs, the mismatch is the conversation.

## What the money buys, where anyone says

The prices above only mean something next to deliverables, and this is where the pages get thin. What is actually itemised:

- **seopenang.com** states the count directly: 30 keywords over twelve months for Plan A, 40 for Plan B.
- **KS Global** publishes a separate one-off: RM900 for a five-page site, RM100 for each page beyond that.
- **Rankpage** names its tiers by intent — foundation, outranking competitors, category default — without a public line-item list.
- **Ours** are on the pricing page: RM690 is one article a month, indexed by Google within 14 days. RM1,290 is two articles a month in two languages, map listing checked monthly, reviews answered within 48 hours. RM2,290 adds a third language and more towns.

If a proposal cannot tell you how many of anything you get, that is the question to ask before the price one.

## Five questions before you sign anything in Penang

### 1. What is the monthly figure, in writing, before the call?

Not a range, not a starting-from — the number for your case. If it can only be given after a discovery call, ask what about your situation changes it.

### 2. How many of what?

Articles, keywords, pages, reports. A count you can check at the end of the month. See the unit table above — make sure you and they are counting the same thing.

### 3. What happens in month three if nothing has moved?

Ask what the exit costs. Twelve-month terms answer this very differently from month-to-month ones, and the per-month price you were quoted assumed you stay.

### 4. Which of these deliverables would I still own if I left?

Content and a domain, yes. Pages rented on someone else's platform, no. Ask which category each line item falls into.

### 5. Can I see the numbers in my own Search Console, not your report?

A report is a view of your data. You should have the data. Ask for access on day one, not at the first review.

## Our own numbers on this exact search — including the bad ones

We would be a poor source on transparency if we only published our prices.

This page is aimed at the search `seo penang`. Here is where we currently stand on it, from our own Search Console, 90 days to 12 August 2026:

- **489 impressions. 0 clicks. Average position 79.1.**

Position 79 is page eight. Nobody has ever clicked us for this search, because nobody scrolls that far.

We are publishing this article knowing that. The reason we can still be useful to you today is that **you do not have to rank to be able to read seven pricing pages and do the division** — which is the entire content of the table above, and which none of those pages will do for you, because it makes some of their numbers look different.

If we are still on page eight in six months, that will be a fair thing to hold against us. We will keep the number on this page updated either way.

## Before you pay anyone

Send us the industry you are in and we will check what the firms ranking above you in your own market publish — who lists a price, what format they use, and which format tends to suit a business like yours. No account access needed, and you will get it whether or not you talk to us afterwards.
