**A website in Malaysia costs anywhere from RM388 to RM60,000+, and both ends of that range are real published prices. The one-time SME middle sits around RM1,980–RM12,000.** The spread is not noise. It measures three things the price lists don't explain: template or custom, rented or owned, one language or three.

Our own prices first, because a pricing article that hides its own pricing is worthless: **RM900** for a one-service site, **RM1,800** for three services, **RM4,900** for a five-service site in three languages — one-time, the site is yours, renewal **RM480 a year** from year two for hosting, domain and upkeep. Full detail on the [pricing page](/pricing).

Every number below was checked on the day this article went live, 23 July 2026. Each one links to the page it came from, so you can check it yourself.

## Six answers to one question

Search this exact phrase and the first page gives you, in order:

- [Kang Xiang](https://kangxiang.info/website-design-price-malaysia-2/): cheapest RM399, SME top around RM12,000
- [ZenWeb's service page](https://zenweb.my/web-design/): RM1,500 for basic three-page sites to RM50,000+, most SMEs RM3,000–10,000
- [ZenWeb's blog](https://zenweb.my/blog/website-design-price-malaysia/): RM500 to RM50,000+, most SMEs RM3,000–8,000
- [GoDaddy](https://www.godaddy.com/resources/asia/skills/how-much-does-a-website-cost-in-malaysia): upwards of RM800
- [Bingo Web Design](https://bingowebdesign.my/blog/how-much-does-website-cost-malaysia/): templates RM500–2,000, custom RM4,500–15,000
- [Aleph Media](https://alephmedia.my/blog/website-design-malaysia-price/): a 12-page site at RM3,600–12,000

Six sources, six ranges, and a floor that moves from RM399 to RM4,500 depending on who you ask. Even the two ZenWeb pages disagree with each other by RM2,000 at the top of the SME band.

None of these pages is wrong. Each one describes a different product and calls it "a website".

## What five agencies actually charge

These are package prices from the sellers' own pages, not survey ranges. All verified 23 July 2026.

| Agency | Entry | Popular / mid | Top | Renewal |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| [Shinjiru](https://www.shinjiru.com.my/web-design/website-design-malaysia/) | RM480 · 1 page | **RM1,980 · 5 pages** | RM2,880 · 10 pages | RM362–562/yr from year 3 |
| [Xantec MagicBuild](https://xantec.com.my/web-digital/magicbuild/) | RM1,288 · 1 page | RM2,388 · 10 pages | RM2,888 · 20 pages | RM699/yr |
| [Exabytes](https://www.exabytes.my/build/website-design) | RM75.90/mo + RM900 setup | — | higher tiers +RM1,300–1,900 setup | reverts to full price, unpublished |
| [Rebrand](https://rebrand.com.my/web-design-packages/) | RM388 · 1 page | RM3,500 · 5 pages | RM5,500 · 10 pages | RM999/yr |
| [ZenWeb](https://zenweb.my/web-design/) | RM6,000–12,000 · 5–8 pages custom | RM12,000–25,000 · 10–20 pages | RM25,000–60,000+ | subscription option RM379–479/mo |
| **Us** | **RM900 · 1 service** | **RM1,800 · 3 services** | **RM4,900 · 3 languages, 30 URLs** | **RM480/yr from year 2** |

Three details from those pages that the table can't hold:

**The title price and the real price are different numbers.** Xantec's page title says 「MagicBuild from RM 888」. The cheapest package on that page is RM1,288. The RM888 exists in the headline and nowhere else.

**The discount is permanent.** Shinjiru's RM1,980 is shown as 10% off RM2,200, with a promo code printed right on the page. The crossed-out price is scenery. Treat the discounted number as the list price, because it is.

**Copywriting can be extra.** Rebrand's packages list professional copywriting as an add-on at RM2,200 — more than half the price of the RM3,500 package it attaches to. When a build looks cheap, check whether anyone is going to write the words on it.

## The math nobody does: year three

Headline prices are down payments. The renewal line in the fine print decides what you actually spend. Three-year totals, same sources as above:

| Package | Sticker | 3-year total | What you have after 3 years |
|---|---|---|---|
| Xantec RM1,288 | RM1,288 | **RM2,686** | 1 landing page, no CMS |
| Shinjiru RM1,980 | RM1,980 | **RM2,442** | 5-page template site |
| Exabytes entry | 「RM75.90/mo」 | **RM1,810.80 in year one alone**, then unpublished | 1 page, on their subscription |
| Rebrand RM3,500 | RM3,500 | **RM5,498** | 5-page template, 1 language |
| ZenWeb RM379/mo | 「RM379/mo」 | RM4,548 per year, every year | nothing — cancel and the site goes |
| Ours RM1,800 | RM1,800 | **RM2,760** | 3-service site you own, can edit yourself |

Two of those rows deserve a sentence each.

Exabytes advertises RM75.90 a month. Twelve months of that is RM910.80, plus the RM900 setup fee makes **RM1,810.80 for the first year** — about the same as a one-time build, except the meter keeps running and the page doesn't say at what rate.

ZenWeb's subscription is the honest version of the same model: RM379 a month, locked for a year, RM4,548 annually. Their page is upfront that this is a rental. [Their blog also states](https://zenweb.my/blog/website-design-price-malaysia/) that many RM500 deals keep the domain or hosting under the vendor's name. On that point we and our most expensive competitor agree.

## Why the cheap tier exists

Look up what the cheap sellers do for a living. Shinjiru's homepage title is 「Web Hosting Malaysia」. Exabytes' is 「AI Hosting, Domain, VPS」. Xantec's is 「Software company · AI & API solutions」. Web design is a side product for them — built from templates, priced to fill servers, renewed on hosting margins.

There is nothing wrong with buying a side product. A RM480 one-pager from a hosting company is a fair trade if you need an address on the internet by Friday. But it is a different commodity from what the specialist tier sells, which is why [ZenWeb's own service page](https://zenweb.my/web-design/) — the most expensive vendor in this comparison — says sites under RM3,000 are usually template builds. They are not attacking the budget tier. They are describing it.

The honest comparison is not RM480 versus RM6,000. It is: template you rent versus template you own versus custom you own. Price within the right column, not across all three.

## The variable nobody prices: languages

Malaysia runs on at least three. Most quotes cover one.

Rebrand prints it on every package card: 「1 Language」. ZenWeb lists multi-language support as a feature of its **RM12,000–25,000** tier. When we checked in mid-July, one Shah Alam agency was quoting +RM2,500 per additional language before folding that price into 「contact us」.

So before comparing any two quotes, count languages. A RM3,500 single-language site and a RM4,900 trilingual site are not RM1,400 apart. On the only published benchmark that prices languages at all, a trilingual custom build starts above RM12,000. That gap is the reason our three-language tier costs what it costs, and you now have the same numbers we used to set it.

## What Google's AI told people it costs

On 17 July 2026 we searched 「web design malaysia」 and Google's AI Overview answered: RM3,000–30,000+, SME sites RM3,000–15,000, e-commerce RM12,000–60,000+.

We checked that against the results it sat on top of. The number one organic result — Shinjiru — sells its most popular package at **RM1,980**, and its whole WordPress line sits below the AI's RM3,000 floor. The AI didn't lie. It averaged the pages that describe the market and skipped the price list of the site ranked directly beneath it.

It also doesn't hold still. The same query on the same day returned a second, different range. Six days later, the query showed no AI Overview at all. An answer that changes between searches and cites nothing you can open is not a price you can plan a budget on. This table is our answer to that: every number dated, every number linked.

## Seven questions that price any quote

Send these to any agency, including us. Each exists because of something above.

1. **Is the price on your ad the price on your pricing table?** If they differ, use the table.
2. **What is the renewal fee, and from which year?** Multiply by three. That's the real price.
3. **Who owns the domain, the hosting account, and the site?** Get 「you do」 in writing. Some budget vendors keep them.
4. **How many languages does this include?** And the price per additional one.
5. **Is copywriting included?** One vendor above charges RM2,200 for it, on top of RM3,500.
6. **Is this price inclusive of SST, and are you SST-registered?** Registered providers add 8% for taxable services. Providers under RM500,000 turnover charge none.
7. **If I cancel or leave, what do I take with me?** The subscription models above have three different answers.

## Our numbers, including the part that's early

Same table, our column, no advantage: **RM900** one service, **RM1,800** three services, **RM4,900** three languages and 30 URLs. Renewal RM480 a year from year two, and the site is yours from day one — domain, hosting account, an editing link you can use without us.

And because we hold everyone else to their numbers, here are ours: this site is 13 days old in Google's eyes. Over the last 28 days it has earned **1,350 impressions across 141 commercial search terms — and 11 clicks**, because it ranks on page 8. That is what week two of SEO looks like from inside, and we publish it so that when we show you month-six numbers, you'll know we didn't start counting at the good part.

If you want the same honesty applied to your own site — where it shows up, what it's missing, what to fix first — the [free visibility check](/free-check) takes fifteen minutes.
