In the field
Turn health research into confident buyers.
Wellness and supplement customers rarely buy on impulse — they read, compare, and look for reasons to trust. We build the website and the search presence that answer their questions before a competitor does, so the research ends on your product page.

Who ranks for wellness SEO — and what that tells you
The first page is not the usual giants. Specialist wellness-only shops with Domain Authority as low as 6 outrank generalist agencies with ten times their backlinks — and two of the ten results already sell an AI-search angle for wellness brands. Both facts matter: specialisation beats raw authority in this niche, and the worry about being invisible in AI answers is real enough that agencies are building services on it.
Google holds health content to a higher bar — in writing
Google's own documentation says its systems give even more weight to E-E-A-T (experience, expertise, authoritativeness, trust) for topics that could significantly impact health — what it calls 「Your Money or Your Life」 topics. Wellness is named territory. Template content dies faster here than in any other industry, because the bar is officially higher.
Google, Creating helpful contentWe tested how AI actually picks wellness brands
On 23 July 2026 we asked Perplexity to recommend Malaysian halal supplement brands to a European distributor. Every brand it named had third-party proof behind it — a government export directory listing, a LinkedIn company page, B2B marketplace profiles. The sources AI cited were those third parties, not the brands' own websites. We also checked a brand with a technically perfect site (crawlable, structured data, the lot) and zero third-party footprint: the AI did not know it existed.
The channels AI cites are mostly free
For Malaysian wellness brands specifically: the MATRADE exporters' directory is a free government listing, and it was among the sources AI actually cited in our test. A LinkedIn company page is free. Industry marketplaces have free tiers. The entity work that makes AI trust a brand starts with channels that cost time, not money — which is also why an agency quoting you for a 「magic AI file」 deserves the question: which of these have you set up first?
Fix the entity before the content
A wellness brand AI has never heard of doesn't need more blog posts first — it needs the third-party record straight: company page, directories, consistent name and details everywhere. That's what the engines cite.
Write to the YMYL bar, not around it
Ingredient claims and benefit language need sources you can point to. This is not compliance advice — it's search reality: Google says it weighs trust harder here, so pages that show their evidence outrank pages that assert.
Specialisation is the ranking strategy
DA-6 wellness-only shops outrank bigger generalists on this exact search. The same logic works for brands: one deep, honest page per product question beats ten thin pages — in Google and in AI answers alike.
What we don't do — said plainly
We are not regulatory consultants. Health claims in Malaysia have rules (KKM among them), and what your label or ad may legally say is a question for a compliance professional, not an SEO agency. What we do: make the content you are allowed to publish findable, trustworthy, and citable — on Google, on Maps, and in AI answers. If an agency offers to 「handle」 your claims as part of SEO, that's a flag, not a feature.
Questions
- How is SEO for wellness brands different from normal SEO?
- The mechanics are the same — the bar is not. Google's documentation names health among 「Your Money or Your Life」 topics where its systems give extra weight to experience, expertise, authoritativeness and trust. In practice: sourced claims, a real author, consistent brand details, and third-party proof matter more here than in any other industry we serve.
- Why doesn't ChatGPT or Perplexity know my brand?
- In our own test, AI engines recommended brands with third-party footprints — government directories, LinkedIn pages, marketplace profiles — and cited those sources, not brand websites. A technically perfect site with no third-party record was invisible. The fix starts with entity work, not with more content on your own domain.
- Where should a wellness brand start, before paying anyone?
- Three free moves: complete your Google Business Profile, set up a proper LinkedIn company page, and get listed in the directories your buyers actually check — for Malaysian exporters that includes MATRADE's free listing. Those are among the exact sources we saw AI cite. Then make the product pages answer real buyer questions, with sources.
- Can you guarantee my brand gets recommended by AI?
- No — and nobody honestly can, the answers change between searches. What we can do is build the conditions AI engines demonstrably reward: third-party proof, consistent entity data, and content that shows its evidence. Then we report where you appear, dated, so you can watch it move — or call us out if it doesn't.
