Klang was proclaimed a Royal City on 5 February 2024 and its council became Majlis Bandaraya Diraja Klang. Any listing still saying Majlis Perbandaran Klang is out of date — and bak kut teh was gazetted a national heritage food on 23 February 2024 under the National Heritage Act, with Klang the recognised origin.

Freight, warehousing and wholesale are what this city does. Yet the page ranking first for “seo klang” when we looked does not mention Port Klang, logistics or wholesale anywhere on it. Two more things worth knowing: Klang district has the second-highest share of Indian citizens of any district in Malaysia at 19.1%, so English-only is a narrower decision here than elsewhere in Selangor. And Klang was proclaimed a Royal City in February 2024, which means every directory still naming its council Majlis Perbandaran Klang is out of date.
