Local SEO in Malaysia costs RM1,500 a month at the only published package price we could find, within survey ranges of RM800–RM3,500. Here is the part that should bother you: we checked nine providers on the first page of this exact search, and eight of them will not tell you a price until you get on a call.
Ours first, as always: we don't sell local SEO as a separate line. It lives inside our monthly plans — RM690 with quarterly Google Business Profile checks, reviews handled, one article a month; RM1,290 with monthly GBP checks, reviews answered within 48 hours, content in two languages. Month to month, cancel anytime, details on the pricing page.
Every claim below was checked on 23 July 2026, the day this went live. Links included, so you can re-check.
Nine providers, one published price
| Provider | Local SEO price | What their page says |
|---|---|---|
| MackyClyde | RM1,500/mo single location · RM5,500/mo multi-location | The only buyable price on this list. 「No lock-in contracts」 |
| ZenWeb | Survey range: RM800–1,200 / RM1,500–2,500 / RM2,800–3,500+ | A well-structured pricing article — with every model labelled 「in our modelling」, no external source |
| localseo.com.my | Survey range: RM1,500–5,000/mo | Exact-match domain. Its own packages carry no price |
| Cleverly | None | Full service page, zero prices |
| BThrust | None | Only ringgit figure on the page: 「FREE SEO Audit worth RM500」 |
| MYSense | None | Only ringgit figure: 「FREE… Strategy Session (Worth RM3000)」 |
| Heroes of Digital | None for the service | The prices in its article are software subscriptions (SEMrush, Moz Local) — see below |
| MediaPlus | Range only in its listicle | No source given |
| imarketing.my | None | 3,400 words on what local SEO is. No price, no data, no table |
Two of these deserve a closer look, because they teach you how to read this market.
The free thing with a price tag. BThrust's audit is 「worth RM500」. MYSense's strategy session is 「worth RM3,000」. Neither number is a price anyone pays — it's a value label on a sales conversation. The audits themselves may well be useful. Just don't let the first ringgit figure you see anchor what the monthly fee should be, because that figure was chosen to impress, not to invoice.
The price that belongs to someone else. Google's snippet for Heroes of Digital reads 「subscription starts at USD$119.95 per month」. Click through and that number is SEMrush's price — a software tool the article reviews, not the agency's service. Search snippets get clipped out of context. It's the third time we've caught this pattern while researching prices, and it's why every number in our articles links to the page it came from.
What the money actually buys
Google publishes how local ranking works: three factors — relevance, distance, and prominence. You cannot buy distance. Every legitimate line item in a local SEO proposal maps to the other two:
- A complete, correct Google Business Profile. Right primary category, real hours, photos that aren't stale. Category choice alone decides which searches you're even eligible for — we wrote up the common GBP mistakes that quietly cost customers.
- Reviews, arriving and answered. Prominence, in Google's own wording, includes how visible and trusted a business is. A steady stream of answered reviews is the most ownable input.
- Local content. Pages and posts that use the words your customers actually search, in the languages they search in.
- Consistent details everywhere. Same name, address, phone across directories, so nothing contradicts your profile. If your listing has vanished from the map entirely, that's usually a different problem — verification, suspension, or a duplicate.
If a proposal can't tie a line item to relevance or prominence, ask what the item is for. 「Citations on 50 directories」 sounds like prominence; ask which 50, and whether your customers have ever seen any of them.
Why quotes run from RM800 to RM5,500
The spread is not all games. Three variables genuinely move the work: how many locations you have (MackyClyde's own two tiers are RM1,500 for one location, RM5,500 for multi), how competitive your area is (a clinic in KL fights harder than one in Taiping), and how many languages your customers search in — the variable most quotes skip entirely, and the reason our two-language plan exists.
ZenWeb's pricing article deserves credit for laying out tiers by scope. Where it loses us is verification: its cost-per-lead figures — around RM44 to RM56 per local lead — are labelled 「in our modelling」. Possibly accurate. Not checkable. When you read any agency's numbers, including ours, the question is not whether they sound right. It's whether you can open the source.
How we price it, and where the edges are
We fold local SEO into the monthly plan instead of selling it as a separate retainer. What that includes is published, not negotiated: quarterly GBP audit and corrections on RM690, monthly on RM1,290, review responses (48 hours on the higher plan), one or two articles a month in one or two languages, and a monthly report where every figure — clicks, impressions, new search terms — can be reconciled against your own Search Console.
The honest edges: we don't do bulk directory submissions, and multi-location chains with five outlets need more than our standard plans carry — for that, the RM5,500 tier above is the market's answer, and we'd rather tell you that than stretch. What we're best at is the case where one business, one or two locations, needs to be found in more than one language.
Five questions before you sign anything
- 「What is the monthly price, in writing, before the call?」 Eight of nine providers above won't say. The one that does, you can hold to it.
- 「Which ranking factor does each line item serve?」 Relevance, prominence, or neither. Google's own document is two pages; read it before any sales call.
- 「Who owns the Google Business Profile?」 You should be the primary owner. Always. An agency that owns your profile owns your exit.
- 「What happens in the report each month?」 The right answer names numbers you can verify in your own Search Console, not a PDF of screenshots.
- 「What does the free audit obligate me to?」 Nothing, if it's honest. The label price on it is marketing either way.
Our own numbers on this exact search
We practice what this article preaches, so: according to Google Search Console (domain property, pulled 23 July 2026), the search 「local seo malaysia」 showed our site 86 times in 28 days — and we ranked around position 99, which is why you almost certainly did not find this article through that search yet. This page is our answer to that gap, published with the data still ugly. When it moves, the numbers in this paragraph get updated at this same URL, dated.
If you'd rather start with where your own business stands — on Google, on Maps, in AI answers — the free visibility check takes fifteen minutes and obligates you to nothing. No label price on it either.
